I had a theft of classic car parts occur in Brisbane and reported the matter to Police. Same day I established who the thief was and where my stolen property was and tried to contact him by phone. QP 1600958952. Reported it to Police. Next day the thief was granted an Interim Intervention Order in Victoria on the basis I had harassed him by attempting to make phone contact. I made a submission to the Court to have it thrown out as it was a criminal matter and the Order had aided and abetted a crime. Even the address in Queensland where my property was taken to was on the Order. This made me dependent on the Police to act. They didn’t and allowed the thief to transfer my stolen property to Victoria. The Order was for a year and when it expired I rang the thief and he immediately went back to Court and had it upgraded to a Lifetime Order. This is UNNACEPTABLE.

A Senior Sargent in Queensland told me that I should just contact the thief directly as I’m not in Victoria jurisdiction. So I did and recently had the thief made complaints that I have breached the Victorian Intervention Order. Queensland Police attended my workplace on behalf of Victorian Police .
When the victim of a crime is potentially criminalised by legal manoeuvring then the system needs an overhaul.
