I read a story about the Hopetoun tea rooms in one of the lift outs in the Herald Sun a while ago and I thought they were shifting to another building in the city. I’ve been to the old premises many times and loved it. I hope it opens up somewhere else Marina.
we have enjoyed a number of lovely lunchtimes at the Tearooms over the years. Really miss our regular catch ups thanks to COVID. Let’s hope we can resume at a new venue or (hopefully) back at the Tearooms wherever.
Kathy Brennan Hi Kathy, Hopetoun Tea Rooms has moved to 421 Bourke st Melbourne and is currently renovating. It will be open later this year. Announcements will be made closer to the opening date and all gift certificates will be honoured.

Such a favourite of my family’s – when my son was little, he absolutely loved going there and I have been a massive fan for a long while now … love the place, the food/sweets, the teas …, the vibe … so many lovely memories made there over an exquisite cup of tea and delicious cake … a special experience!❤️ Truly where there is tea, there is hope! Cannot wait for the new Tea Rooms to open up!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Lariss, visiting the Hopetoun Tea Rooms has been a tradition in so many families for generations. ♥️ It really is special.
Look forward to seeing you at the new premises ♥️

I thought it was closed permanently. I had a voucher I couldn’t use. Had always wanted to go.

I have worked past and admired it but have never been.
What a shame
When it reopens in Bourke street you must go. The sweets are amazing 😻
I’ve heard its really nice, however, I have never been there
me either. I was walked past and admired. I got a voucher for a Christmas present but it went bankrupt

Thank you Hopetoun Tearooms for your response. I will certainly visit (for the first time ever) once renovating is completed.
