    1. Hello Graham, the Hopetoun Tea Rooms are located at 421 Bourke street Melbourne and undergoing a major renovation to a beautiful historic building. They will be open later this year.

  1. Such a pity you have to relocate, a long tradition is coming to an end. There are a few cafes in Europe with such long history but it’s sad that Melbourne will no longer be one of those cities. A beautiful piece of authentic old world charm is lost to all.

    1. Eileen, it really is a pity. It’s unfortunate that not everyone appreciates the history. The new premises will be bigger and better. A new chapter for Hopetoun Tea Rooms. ♥️

    3. The new tearooms that has taken the Hopetoun tearooms place looks just the same, the tables and chairs, wallpaper, mirrors, crockery etc are the same. Food is great, tea is great, staff are great. You should give it a try. If you didn’t know you would think it was the same people.

      1. Sharyn, it seems the same because all these assets I procured were stolen from me. It’s naive to turn a blind eye to what has occurred.

  2. The first tea room I was in when I first arrived in Australia I was happy to hear the Scottish accent from the waitress serving us made me feel at home when I’m in Melbourne I always go there now with my grandchildren

    1. Hi Sue, Hopetoun Tea Rooms will be open later this year when renovations are complete. Announcements will be made in due course. ♥️

  3. Every time I went to Melbourne from Adelaide I went to Hopetoun Tearooms (sometimes years apart) and Kelly would remember me and greet me, the most amazing place and Kelly is an amazing person💖

      1. Thank you, you gave me wonderful memories. Going to your tearooms was like walking into a dream, the atmosphere, the decor, the food, the service was the best, ❤️

  4. I first went to the tea rooms with my mother and cousin when I was about 10. Then visited many times after when we came to Melbourne. After I moved to Melbourne and worked in the city my girlfriend and I would have lunch there once a month. So many great memories of trying to pick which cake to have.
