  1. Kelly Koutoumanos Wishing you every success and can’t wait to experience High Tea in your glamorous and expansive new location. For all those reminiscing about The Block please consider that memories should not be based on bricks and mortar but on those that create the ambience and the experience to which Kelly and her Team are the custodians and therefore are transferable. 🦋

  2. Hi Kelly

I am so sorry to hear about the awful time you have been having. I live in Brisbane and so had not been aware of what has been going on with the tea rooms. Several years ago I asked a friend from Melbourne where I should go for high tea with another friend whilst visiting the city. She immediately recommended the Hopetoun Tea Rooms and said it was by far the best.. We thoroughly enjoyed our treat and spent quite some time getting through the wonderful food. The atmosphere was magical we were transported back to another time.

Without your email I would have blindly booked again on another trip to Melbourne (whenever that will be). I would have felt quite cheated if I had later discovered what has happened.

I can only send support and best wishes from afar and let you know how disgusted I am about the whole situation. On our last visit to The Block my husband and I commented on how all the nice shops had gone and put it down to the ratchet clause most landlords put into their leases, which makes rentals far too expensive when the tenant is not increasing their own turnover to match. However this is far more insiduous.

Do please keep me informed the outcome and one day we may be able to visit your new premises. I prefer to support businesses who care about their customers and are not just out to make a quick buck.

    Kind regards

    Debra Cooper

  3. Hi Kelly,
I’ve loved your tearooms for many years. You have been through a disgusting form of bullying, which is very sad to hear. Thank you for the detail in your information, which has helped to clarify much confusion I’ve had about what is happening.
I have visited the tearooms a couple of months ago, not understanding what had happened. I must say, as a vegetarian, I was limited in getting lunch. I missed your pea fritters. I won’t be going back there, despite the fact that I love the building.
I am very much looking forward to coming to enjoy your new venue when you open. I’ll hang out and await the best.
Blessings and peace to you and your team.
    Fran ❤💕
