  4. My father took us to the Hopetoun tea rooms when we were young we went there until his death I took my grandchildren met my sister there it was our meeting spot . Then there was a change of management and it was difficult to get a table for one it became a hassle on more than one occasion. One day I told management that I would not be back because of the service I had been going there since the 50s my sister felt the same .

      Thank you for your kind words and support. This is what happens when a business and a culture of nurture and care is stolen from you, and attempts are made to replicate and imitate does not belong to the thief – Block Arcade.
      Upon receiving your message right at this moment – we have, at the same time, just received a phone call from the local police station, in that we have been acting unlawfully in telling my story. We have been asked to attend the police station for an interview.
      We will be contesting all such allegations, as we are telling the “Truth and reporting a Crime.” 😘

  9. What Really Happened?

    I never had the pleasure of dining at your previous establishment. Every time I was in the Block Arcade there were too many people waiting to be seated. My friend absolutely loved her experience there and told me I HAD to go.I always lingered outside admiring the luscious food in the window.
    Next time I am in Melbourne I must come with my daughter (she has also only admired your previous establishment from the outside)
    You have had such a dreadful time and I am sure your new premises will be just as successful as your previous one was before all the troubles started.

  24. We’re from Brisbane and had been to the Tearooms on trips to Melbourne before the pandemic and loved it there so much. I had no idea that the business had been sold and that this intellectual property theft had happened. I’ll unfollow their account. Best wishes.
