  1. 🌹🌹🌹🌹❤ – thank you for all the best dining sessions at the Tea Rooms – see you soon at the new place

  2. I would love a dollar for every time I visited there when I was working n the city! I was 17, ilived at Blackburn and felt that visiting the Hopetoun transported me to a different world! Later, it was a big annual treat for my two children to visit Santa Claus at Myers and then have lunch at the Hopetoun!

  3. 20 years ago I worked at Wittner shoes in the Block Arcade.. every morning we would pop into the Tea rooms before opening and have coffee with the then manager, Mary. Such a magnificent place, sad that it’s leaving the Block, but happy it’s continuing on elsewhere

    1. those were the days!! Going down into the kitchen all those funny little corridors underneath ! It was great! Loved Mary as well!

      1. remember? The good old days walking through the basement, through the kitchen and up to the ground floor! And the toasted sandwiches!!

  4. I still remember your Mocha Buns slathered in butter. I used to have one every day 50 years ago. I worked at the National Bank across the road as a teenager. 😋

      1. Oh great. I’d love to taste one again. They were a long rectangular soft bun with a sticky mocha coffee icing on top then sliced and buttered. I think with a whipped butter.
