  1. Visited with my wife years ago. Great memory. I wish Perth had a similar tea rooms to visit. I am sure it would go some way to bring people back into the CBD. The renovated Piccadilly Arcade would be a good location. Something to consider!!

  2. I loved reading your story an old friend (customer) at my cafe used to tell me stories of the tea rooms. Reading your story I realised the blind man you spoke of was Uncle Keith as we called him. He wouldn’t miss sat mornings in the city for anything.

      1. Kelly, One very special gentleman. We used to joke I promised him on his 100th birthday that I would make 100 desserts well sadly he fell a bit short so I made a picture book of the desserts and placed it in his coffin. They just dont make them like him anymore sadly.

      2. @Kelly Oh gosh โ€ฆ I worked with Kevin many years ago in 1970, and we kept in touch ever since. One of the last times I caught up with him was at the Hopetoun Tea Rooms. And he was with his friend that was mentioned here. He had a gift for staying connected with people. Always made the effort to keep in touch. Sadly he passed away in July of 2015. He was a lovely gentle person and is much missed.

        1. Oh Wow Susan, itโ€™s so nice to hear that story. He was certainly a gentle and kind person. I do remember a lady coming in and telling me of his passing, not long after his friend had passed. I have very fond memories of these two gentlemen. Thank you for sharing that. โ™ฅ๏ธ

          1. Kelly you are very welcome. Kevin was indeed a special man. Loved music and used to compile special tapes of songs for me from his vast collection of 45s for my birthday each year. He was one of a kind. I look forward very much to visiting your new premises which I believe is now in the very building that housed tge jeweller where I got my engagement ring back in โ€˜82. A trip to the CBD is long overdue.

  3. I despise SVP, Sally Capp and even though I dont know him Mr.Cohen because he is a cheat not wanting to put in the hard work to achieve business success but to short cut based on someone elses blood, sweat and tears….how often has he done this to date??…..but there is a lot of words which all make sense but this obvious theft is getting further and further away in the rear vision mirror……..surely a “Silk” would take this on Pro-bono with the promise of lifetime of high teas:-) Or a pay on success arrangement….I see it as a win for you and fairness Kakes but the strategy has to escalate as I thin k Cohen and his conspirators would be laughing whilst counting YOUR dollars from the business you built up and they have stolen….
